School Security Drills…

Dear WMTPS Community,

Earlier today, representatives from the New Jersey Department of Education – Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning conducted a “no notice” site visit to our district. These representatives, along with officers and administrators from the New Jersey State Police and West Milford Police Department met with school and district administrators to discuss and review best practices in the area of school safety. School safety drills were held at Westbrook School and Macopin School and I am pleased to report that our schools performed very well. We will have additional post-drill conferences and meetings with the NJDOE and WMPD and will share statewide “best practices” with our school administrators, faculty, and staff. The safety of our children is our primary concern and we will continue to work with these and other security experts to make the appropriate improvements to our district.

If you have any questions about this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best,

Alex Anemone, Ed.D.

Superintendent of Schools
